Before/After School Counselor Position Available

We are currently looking for an energetic, reliable, creative person to work part-time in our before/after school program with children 5-12 years of age. Hours are M-F from 7:00am-9:30am and 2:30pm-6:15pm with the option for additional hours during school breaks. FT Summer employment is also available. Job Description and Duties:

Work as a team with other staff to ensure the safety of participants at all times.
Work with fellow Counselors and Director to plan and implement program activities, including arts and crafts, sports, field trips, cooking, science experiments and special events on a weekly basis.
Actively participate with and serve as a role model to participants at all times.
Prepare, serve and clean up after snacks, as well as general cleaning and maintenance of site.
Establish and maintain quality relationships with children and their families.
Provide routine first aid in cases of minor injury.
Learn and follow company policies and procedures that are in the Staff Training Manual.
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and check-ins as scheduled by Director.
May be required to work a flexible schedule, based on an elementary school schedule: half days, early dismissal, and Camp days during breaks.

Specifications and Qualifications:

· Salary Range is $11+ hr depending on experience and qualifications.

· Must be at least 18 years of age.

· A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

· Experience in leading games, crafts, and organized activities with groups of children preferred.

· Must pass Washington State criminal background check.

· Job location is in the Laurelhurst/Sand Point area.
