Welcome to LASER Extended Kindergarten Program! 

            LASER Extended Kindergarten is a tuition-based program that compliments the Half-Day Kindergarten at Laurelhurst School.  Our teacher ratio is two teachers per 25 students.  

            Our primary purpose is to introduce children to education in a positive, interesting, and fun learning environment while helping them learn more sophisticated social skills.  We emphasize cooperation and the appreciation of people.  We find the children eager, curious and ready to accept the challenges of new experiences. 

            We recognize that beginning Kindergarten can be a dramatic transition in a child’s life.  We work with your child’s district teacher to make this time as smooth and comfortable as possible.  We work as a team to ensure your child’s success. 

             Our emphasis is on literature, art, math and natural science.   We introduce the children to an abundance of tools, experiences, materials and topics.   We try to accommodate the needs and interests of the children.    Our activities are interesting, challenging, and enjoyable, they encourage success.   We help the children to express themselves creatively and intellectually. 

Registration Procedure 2010 

1. Attend the Laurelhurst Elementary Open House on Feb. 10th or one of the School Visits taking place on Feb. 25th, March 4th, March 9th, and March 17th. 
2. After any Open House or School Visit, you may register for LASER Extended Kindergarten. The registration form will be a pre-registration form contingent on your child being assigned to the Laurelhurst Elementary School Half-day Kindergarten.  
3. All children enrolled in the Laurelhurst Elementary School Half-day Kindergarten will be guaranteed a spot in LASER Extended Kindergarten program.  
4. The registration process is completed when we have all our application forms completed and deposit on file.
